24 Hour Magic Kingdom Leap Day at Walt Disney World Resort!

Wow!

24 Hours at the Magic Kingdom!

Can you imagine?  We are so excited to be a part of the fun.

For the first time ever, Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort, are opening the Magic Kingdom parks for 24 straight hours.  From 6:00am on Feb. 29th to 6:00am on March 1st for Leap Day.

I am worried about the crowds but excited at the same time.  We will be going to bed extra early tomorrow night.  But you know how it is trying to sleep when you are excited and you know you have to get up early in the morning.

You end up laying there awake and thinking of anything and everything while trying to think of nothing!  I can't wait!

How can we resist a first time event at Disney World?  Even if we end up walking like zombies and wishing we were at home.

Walt Disney World Resort has thought of everything though, and to help keep everyone awake they have planned entertainment.

There will be Dance Parties, Parades, and even Hoedowns!  We plan on taking lots of pictures and making lots of new memories.

We will write more here on our Disney Blog about our 24 hour day at the Magic Kingdom Walt Disney World Resort on March 2nd. (March 1st we will be sleeping☺.

About my family! Post #1

We're going to talk a little about ourselves here on our Living Disney Blog☺.

My sister and I lived in Asheville, N.C for 20 yearsWe moved there from Fairbanks, A.K. in 1989.

We had a hard time in school trying to deal with the culture shock.  But we made it through like everyone else.

After High School we worked at various jobs, went to school to be a Nail Technician, and opened our own nail salon called The Art Of Nails.

My sister, Amy, birthed a beautiful little boy in 1996.  His name is Trevon and he is so sweet!  Amy wanted to have a child but had no partner, so she used a Donor.

When Trevon was 1 year old, I went to live with her to help her out and keep her company. The funny thing is that I never left.

We got along so well and I loved Trevon as my own.  I stayed and lived with them and co-raised Trevon with her.

And this is the start of our family which now consists of:
Myself - Elizabeth
My sister - Amy
Her son- Trevon
Her 2nd son - Zarius
My daughter - Mahnara

Lots more next time.  Very interesting info!

Pin Trading at the Disney Animal Kingdom Resort

Today we went to the Jambo House Disney Animal Kingdom Resort which is a GREAT Disney pin resort!

We love Trading Disney Pins there and have found it a great place for Collecting Disney Pins.

Trevon and Carolyn, an Animal Kingdom Cast Member who we love to trade Disney Pins with

They have a Disney Pin Trading Book at the Bell Hop desk in the lobby and another Disney Pins Book at the Front Check in desk.

They also have a DVC (Disney Vacation Club) person who wears a lanyard located at the end of the lobby which is often a great place to find some Disney Collectable Trading Pins.

Front Desk Check In (they have a pin book here!) ~ Jambo House ~ Animal Kingdom Lodge

The Zawadi Marketplace, their gift shop,  has numerous cast members who wear Disney Pin Trading Lanyards.  You can trade up to 2 pins per person per cast member per day.

My favorite activity that only the Animal Kingdom Resort offers, and what makes it such a Great Disney Pin Resort is Pin Trading with "King Pin", a special character who is at the Zawadi Marketplace Animal Kingdom Lodge, everyday from 3:00 to 3:30 pm.
King Pin Animal Kingdom Lodge

He has a Disney Pin Satchel, a Pin Trading Lanyard or two, and also a Disney Pin Grab Bag.

You can give him one of your Disney Trading Pins and then reach into the Disney Pin Trading bag (without looking, that is why it is a mystery pouch) and feel around for the pin you want to trade for.  I found a great hard to find Disney Pin, a Chip and Dale Disney pin in the bag once!

☺     ☺     ☺     ☺     ☺

King Pin is dressed in a Traditional African outfit and even has a red royal rug for you to stand on while you are pin trading with him.  This is a great opportunity for a Disney picture and I highly recommend bringing your camera to capture the special and fun Disney magic!

Pool View Jambo House Animal Kingdom Lodge

We are really big Disney Pin Collectors and are always out looking for new Hidden Mickey pins for our Disney Hidden Mickey Pin Collections.  We have bought pins at a Disney Pins Sale and at one of the two Disney World Outlet Stores in Kissimmee and Lake Buena Vista.  We also like to try finding Disney Pins in Bulk.

We love exploring Walt Disney Resorts!  To me and my family it is just as fun as going to the Disney Theme Parks.

We have made so many special friends who are cast members at the Resorts.  It is the Best place to go on your day off for a nice relaxing time.

You will be surprised at the beauty and details that the Disney Imagineers put into the resorts at Walt Disney World.

Experience the Disney Magic of the Walt Disney Resorts

My family and I love to explore the Disney Magic at the Walt Disney Resorts in Walt Disney World Florida and we want to share it here with you, on our Disney Blog!

Grand Floridian Resort Lobby

We enjoy visiting the Disney Resorts just as much as we enjoy going to the Disney Theme Parks and Water Parks!

Polynesian Cast Members teaching Zarius how to play the Ukulele

You should really try to take some time out of your Disney World Vacation or Orlando Florida Vacation to visit and explore the resorts around Disney World.

Disney Wilderness Lodge Resort

Imagineers went all out when they designed the Resorts.  When you walk into the Animal Kingdom Lodge, you feel like your really in Africa on a Wild Safari.

Lobby of the Jambo House Animal Kingdom Lodge

You don't have to stay at the Resorts to visit and enjoy them!
All of the wonders are there for you too!

Fantasia Gift Shop at the Contemporary Resort

We love going to the Disney Beaches and swinging on the hammocks, sitting by the fire pits, or watching the Disney Movie at the Movies Under The Stars Nights.

Zarius on the beach (with the Grand Floridian Wedding Pavilion in the background) between the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian Resorts

An easy and fun way to work in a visit to resorts at Disney World is Disney dining.  There are so many wonderful dining options in the Walt Disney Resorts!

Yummy desserts at the Boardwalk Resort

Another popular activity at the Walt Disney Resorts is Disney World Water Sports.  Many Disney Deluxe Resorts and some Disney Moderate Resorts offer a wide variety of water sports.

Mahnara and Zarius at the Polynesian on a rental boat

If you are not interested in any of the water sports or Disney World Resort dining then spending a day at the Disney area resorts is a great way to escape Disney World weather!!!

Visiting the resorts around Disney World is easy thanks to Disney World Transportation.

Disney Monorail leaving the Contemporary Resort

You can hop on a free Disney World bus, a Disney boat or even a Disney World monorail that will take you to the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and back again.

Resort boat transportation to the Polynesian Resort

Sometimes my children want to go to Disney just to ride on the boat at night and watch the fireworks over the lake.

Zarius at the Polynesian.  They have Tandem bike rentals!

You can also view the Electrical Water Pageant, the oldest running show at Disney World from the beaches of the resorts located on Bay Lake.  It's a nighttime floating parade of lights and music on the Disney Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon.

Trevon and Mahnara pin trading at the Port Orleans Riverside resort (one of our favorites!)

While visiting the Disney Resorts Florida be sure to do some Disney Pin Trading (there are lots of pin trading books and lanyards), take some Disney Pictures (tons and tons of great photo opportunities) and do some Disney Shopping (of course we can't forget about all of the gift shops)!

Totem Pole outside of the Mercantile Gift Shop in the Wilderness Lodge

Disney put a lot of work into making the Walt Disney World Resorts beautiful and fun for everyone (not just guests staying at them!).

Mahnara taking pictures outside of the Grand Floridian Resort

The resorts at Walt Disney World have a look and feel that you have to experience, each one with a unique and beautiful theme!
